A Message for A.V.H.S.D.
Superintendent David Vierra regarding the Senior Project:
As I begin my first year as superintendent of the Antelope Valley Union High School District, I want to share my personal vision for the District, one that I strongly believe is embraced by all stakeholders in the educational community. It is simply to keep learning and achievement for all students as our primary focus. If it is good for students, let's do it.
The senior project is a perfect example; it is an experience that we wish to provide for all of our students, because it is good for students. The Senior Project encourages students to achieve their goals and dreams while providing them an opportunity to demonstrate what they've learned along the way. The Senior Project Program welcomes the community to become a true stakeholder by providing an avenue to assess student learning.
As your superintendent, I will work hard to improve the educational program in our District, to gain your trust, and to open communication among all aspects of our educational community. Together with the dedicated staff in place, we shall continue to support the outstanding programs of the District, while meeting the many challenges that face us in today's world.
