Lancaster High School officially opened
their doors on August 14, 1995 to register 900 freshmen. The
school was designed for 2,150 students. The 23.8 acres of
P.E. fields include a football field, running track, 2 baseball
fields, and 2 softball fields, plus paved basketball and handball
courts. There were originally 2 computer labs, with 63 computers.
The two-story building covers 196,247 square feet.

On August 27, 1995, the theater was
opened for a parent meeting. The cost of the theater was
three and a half million dollars, a quarter of a million dollars was spent on the sound system
alone. Three studio cameras, two field cameras, plus an editing lab and broadcast studio, made it possible for the students to
produce videos for school and the community beyond.
Parents,
students, and school officials were all there for the official ribbon cutting the
first day of school: September 7, 1995.

On October 7, 1995 dedication
ceremonies were held. Superintendent Robert Girolamo
welcomed everyone. Several presentations were made. Mr. William "Buck"
McKeon presented the school with an American flag that had been flown over the
capital of the U.S., in the name of Lancaster High School.
On June
16, 1999 LnHS had their first graduating class. |
