Classified as an
Innovative Technology by the EPA. |
New Technologies Inc.
uses a new approach to cleaning up our environment. An approach that
offers the public a permanent solution to their hazardous waste
concerns.
The Process called vitrification
uses electrical power to heat and melt contaminated soil. The molten
material cools to a stable glass.
Four electrodes surround
the contaminated area to a depth of the desired treatment. Electricity
is charged to the electrodes which send an electrical current through
the soil. Temperatures can reach 2000 degrees Celsius. Vapor from the
heating process is collected is collected and treated by air emissions
treatment systems. |
| Soil
is Decontaminated by Electrification of the Contaminated Area. |
This technology has a high regard
for the safety of the community because there is no need to excavate or
transport the contaminated soil.
The cost of this new technology
that has the EPA's approval is approximately $800/cubic
yard. |
| "An
aggressive solution to an age old problem." |
Because vitrification is
a new process, it requires approximately one year from permit acceptance
to complete the remediation. RCRA and local permits are necessary for
this process.
Our company is a leader in this
technology. Successful laboratory testing by our engineers and
scientists has produced outstanding results. This process, although not
widely field tested, can and will be the clean up technology for the new
millennium. |
