Description: Through reading a variety of primarily non-fiction works of the 20th century, students will learn to read and understand complex texts and write prose that effectively communicates their aims to mature readers. Students will learn to recognize the aims and modes of discourse, to understand the relationship between structure and purpose, and learn to employ these aims and modes in their own writing. This course is designed to prepare student for the Advanced Placement Examination in language and composition administered by the college board. | Senior Project Seminar-Required For Graduation
#00035 Open to Grade: 12 Prerequisite: none Description: The senior project is going to be the culminating event of Lancaster High School students to help prepare them for life as a responsible citizen. Each of three major components of the project: the research paper, the project, and the oral examination will be assessed to ensure rigor and relevance have been met. Students in their senior year find a mentor in their field of interest, will conduct research, will produce a research paper, and produce their own project. Students will submit required components and give an oral presentation to a panel of community judges. |

Description: Reading skills is designed to help students with diagnosed reading proficiencies reach a minimum proficiency reading level.
